Invisaline or Braces – Which one to go for?

What should you go for, Invisaline or Braces? This is question that a lot of people want the answer to. Traditional braces are made out of metal brackets and wires which are glued to the teeth and Invisalin is a series of transparent removable aligner trays made out of high grade plastic. Each one has its advantages as well as disadvantages. When it comes to Invisaline or Braces, there are a lot of choices to select. We can either get traditional braces or choose to go for the contemporary Invisaline retainers.
Invisaline are transparent and invisible braces, which cannot be easily identified by people. They can be removed allowing for brushing and flossing the teeth and teeth staining, which helps to keep up the oral hygiene. There are certain tooth problems that Invisaline is unable to help with. Rotating teeth, crowding and spacing or providing vertical alignment and for meeting multifaceted bite problems are outside of its purview as it lacks the friction and grip to be effective. Invisiline cannot be used to correct under bites, as well as malocclusions, overbites, cross bites, open bites, deep bites, crooked teeth, and various other flaws of the teeth and jaw. Invisaline can be used only for certain tooth movements and children or young teens that still have baby teeth cannot use it. Invisaline is made out of strong, transparent high grade plastic with aligner trays to keep the teeth straight and not hurt any part of the mouth. Its price is comparatively higher than braces. Invisaline provides comfort and satisfies the aesthetics as well as enhances the cosmetic look and feel, consequently giving natural confidence to the person.
Braces are neither transparent nor invisible and cannot be removed until the treatment is complete. Restricted access makes it difficult to go inside the areas in the mouth for brushing and flossing and therefore, it becomes difficult to remove food particles, causing gum diseases to develop and resulting in the emanation of bad breath. Braces fittingly help to resolve problems like rotating teeth, crowding and spacing or providing vertical alignment and for meeting multifaceted bite problems. Braces are often used to correct under bites as well as malocclusions, overbites, cross bites, open bites, deep bites, crooked teeth and various other flaws of the teeth and jaw. Only traditional braces should be used on children or young teens that still have baby teeth. Traditional braces employ the use of the metal brackets and wires which are glued to the teeth. The metal wires and brackets used with braces can cause mouth irritation or allergic reactions. Orthodontic braces cost less than Invisaline, often with as much as 50% difference. Metal braces and wires tend to cut the insides of the mouth and can be quite painful.
Which one is better –Invisaline or Braces? It depends on the need of the person, who is going for the treatment and the person’s financial condition, time availabilities, personal preferences and the suitability of the frames of the upper and lower segments where the braces are to be fixed. Brief, but sufficient information about the broad outlines of both invisaline and braces have been given and the final choice, whether Invisaline or Braces, lies with the reader.
